For the Attukal Pongala festival, organising or participating in food and water distribution requires formal registration with the local authorities. You must register your group's details, volunteer information and Food Safety License via the Smart Trivandrum Mobile Application or the Smart Trivandrum Pongala Portal before the festival deadline.

Key requirements for registration

• Food Safety Compliance: You need a valid Food Safety Registration/License number and the corresponding date.
• Hygiene Standards: All organisers must follow strict green protocols. Drinking water (kudivellam) must be pure, and any ice used in cool drinks must be made from drinking water and properly stored.
• Display: Printed registration certificates must be displayed prominently in front of distribution counters or vehicles.
